Child Transformation Uganda (CTU)

We are the childrens hands

Dear Comrades

We are running a volunteer program that support orphans in Uganda East Africa,

I feel it is very important to receive volunteers from your organization.

Volunteers can teach in our Kindergarten and primary school, Teach sports, Painting classrooms, assisting in garden, music and dances. In our projects, you can also help orphaned children with daily life and extra-curricular activities.

Volunteers can work in any of those projects in Uganda while sharing their compassion of love and skills with the local children and communities.

 Project Summary

There are many orphans in Uganda. Many children have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic or have been abandoned due to extreme poverty.

Some of our children are migrants from Southern Sudan and children whose parents were attacked and murdered by Konny army in northern Uganda. More than 2 million people were uprooted from their homes and most ended up living in camps that lacked food, clean water, and sanitation.

Thousands of children were kidnapped over the sequence of the conflict and turned into soldiers, porters, cooks or sex slaves.  Many were killed or forced to harm or kill others, including their own relatives.

.The heritage of the war continues to be felt in northern Uganda and southern Sudan, where communities that were decimated during the conflict have not fully recovered.

What has been done to support the victims?

Beginning in 2001, the CTU started a school to provide education to such children. Presently 800 children are 5supported in our primary and secondary school

There is a huge need for people to volunteer with orphanage schools in Ugandan.

 Skills/Qualification Needed

There is no specific qualification needed to join the orphanage volunteer project. However, volunteers must be flexible and patient.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers work as volunteer teacher teaching in English and life skills. You may also help with math, science and social studies. As a volunteer in the orphanage project, you also help with homework and encourage their academic progress. Afternoons and evenings are fun times.

Room/Food/Supervision

We offer a Home Base in Uganda; we try to create a “home away from home” for volunteers staying at our home base. It is a perfect situation for volunteers to live safely and comfortably while making many new friends and sharing experience every day.

I hope you will answer my appeal to help the orphans of Uganda by joining them as a Neighbor. You may also write to me at educafrica1@gmail.com and I will answer any queries or concerns

 Best wishes
